Your Question:

What's the harvest of love when life gets busy?

Answer:

As I reflect on my 19 years of marriage to Susan, I've come to realize that the harvest of love is indeed sweet, but it's only sweeter when life gets busy. When we're not as hungry for each other's love, we tend to take it for granted. But when life gets busy, and we're forced to prioritize our time and energy, we're reminded of the importance of our relationship. We have to make a conscious effort to nurture our love, to make time for each other, and to prioritize our connection.

I've learned that true love is not just about feelings, but about actions. It's about being patient and kind, even when we're not feeling it. It's about being generous and giving, even when we're not getting what we want. As I read in 1 Corinthians 13, "Love is patient, love is kind..." (1 Corinthians 13:4). This is the kind of love that I strive for in my relationship with Susan, and with my children, Joshua and Rebecca. It's a love that's not driven by what we can get, but by what we can give.

When life gets busy, it's easy to get caught up in our own schedules and priorities. But true love requires us to put others first, to prioritize their needs and desires above our own. This is the kind of love that God demonstrates in His relationship with us, and it's the kind of love that we're called to demonstrate in our relationships with others. As I read in 1 Corinthians 13, "Love is not self-seeking, it's not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs..." (1 Corinthians 13:5). This is the kind of love that I want to cultivate in my life, and in my relationships with those I love.
