What if I lose everything?

Losing everything can be a crisis of the will, but it can also be an opportunity to gain more than we ever thought possible. Jesus said, "Whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it" (Mark 8:35). This means that when we give up our own will, self-seeking, and pride, we can experience peace, joy, and satisfaction. It's a reversal of our expectations, where what seems to be a loss can actually be a gain.

This idea is also reflected in the Bible's teaching that we have authority in the name of Jesus to stop evil and permit good. We can submit to God in prayer and ask for guidance, trusting that He will fulfill His purpose through our lives. As the Bible says, "You have authority to stop evil and permit good. Whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven" (Matthew 18:18). This means that even in the midst of a crisis, we can trust that God is working everything out for our good.

Ultimately, losing everything can be a gain if we trust in God's sovereignty and purpose. As the Bible says, "You will have no true wisdom till you do" (Ecclesiastes 7:25). This means that we must be willing to let go of our own plans and expectations, and trust that God has a better plan for us. As Jesus said, "What good is it for you to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit your very self?" (Luke 9:23-25). When we trust in God, we can experience a deeper sense of purpose and meaning, even in the midst of loss.
