Your Question:

Is it normal to feel so angry and helpless?

Answer:

As a pastor, I've seen many people struggle with feelings of anger and helplessness. While it's understandable to feel frustrated and want to lash out, I believe that anger often hides beneath the surface. It's not just about being angry at someone or something external, but also about our own personal needs and desires. We might feel like we're entitled to certain things, or that our rights have been violated, and that can fuel our anger.

The problem is that anger can be devious and hard to find, even to ourselves. We might be so caught up in our own pain and self-pity that we don't even realize we're angry. But anger is always linked to our own heart and our own choices. It's not just about someone else's behavior, but about how we're responding to it. As the Bible says, "You are angry because your rights and your glorynot Godshave been violated." So, we need to take a closer look at our own hearts and ask ourselves, "What are my personal needs? What rights of mine have been violated?"

I think it's also important to recognize that anger can be a form of self-protection, a way of avoiding feelings of emptiness and hopelessness. But ultimately, anger will only lead to more misery and hurt. As a Christian, I believe that God wants us to trust in him and his love, even when things seem difficult or unfair. So, I encourage people to pray and ask God to search their hearts, to help them identify any anger or resentment that might be lurking beneath the surface. By facing our anger and bringing it to God, we can begin to heal and find freedom from its destructive power.
