Why can't I find any answers?
The Pursuit of Meaning: Understanding the God-Shaped Void
As we navigate the complexities of life, it's common to feel a sense of emptiness or disconnection, like something is missing. This is not a new phenomenon; the Bible describes it as a "God-shaped void" in human hearts. Everyone is searching for something that will fill this void, but often, we look in the wrong places. We try to fill it with temporary pleasures, material possessions, or even relationships. However, these things only provide temporary satisfaction, leaving us feeling unfulfilled and searching again.
The reason we can't find answers is that we're looking for meaning in all the wrong places. The world offers many distractions and false promises, but they can't satisfy our deepest longings. This is because our hearts were created to worship and find meaning in a relationship with God. The Bible says, "You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask the Father in my name the Father will give you." (John 15:16) This verse highlights the reality that we were chosen by God, and our purpose is to bear fruit for Him.
When we try to find answers and meaning in our own strength, we'll always come up short. But when we seek God and His truth, we'll find the answers we're looking for. The Bible is clear: "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9) God's ways are higher than ours, and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. When we seek Him, we'll find the answers and meaning we've been searching for. So, let's look to God's Word and seek Him with all our hearts. He's the one who can fill the God-shaped void and give us the answers we're looking for.
