As a pastor, I've had my fair share of dealing with heavy burdens. And I've come to realize that sometimes, God gives us burdens that He doesn't intend to lift off us. Instead, He wants us to roll them back on Him. This is what Psalm 55:22 says, "Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved." It's not that God is cruel or heartless, but rather, He wants us to learn to rely on Him and to trust in His goodness, even when things seem impossible.
Think about it, if God were to lift every burden off us, we would never learn to trust in Him. We would never learn to rely on His strength and His power. And so, He gives us burdens that are meant to teach us to cry out to Him, to seek His help and His guidance. Just like Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, who prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me." He was asking the Father if He could spare Him from His wrath and from the pain of His separation. But even in the midst of that heavy burden, Jesus still called God His Father, and that's what we need to do too.
So, when you're feeling overwhelmed by the burdens that God has given you, remember that He is our nearest environment. He is always with us, and He wants us to cast our burdens on Him. He wants us to trust in His goodness and His power, even when things seem impossible. And when we do, He will sustain us, He will never permit the righteous to be moved. He will give us the strength and the courage to face whatever challenges come our way, and He will be with us every step of the way.
