Uncertainty in Decision Making

When we prioritize our values in times of uncertainty, we can navigate through the complexities of life with more confidence. Our natural inclination is to seek certainty, but uncertainty works in us a trusting that we sink not into despair. It allows us to be uncertain about everything we do claim to know, and to deliberate about our decisions and ponder the options before acting. This freedom to think independently from deterministic limits is essential for making choices that align with our values.

Our values are the guiding principles that help us make decisions that reflect our character and goals. When we prioritize our values, we can distinguish between what is truly important and what is not. This requires us to examine our values and make adjustments as needed. As the Bible says, "Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). As the Bible says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6). By trusting in God and prioritizing our values, we can find direction and purpose in times of uncertainty.
