What if I lose everything?

Losing everything can be a challenging and difficult experience, but it can also be a transformative one. According to Jesus, "if anyone wishes to come after me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it" (Mark 8:35). This means that when we lose everything, we are actually gaining something more valuable - a deeper relationship with God and a sense of purpose and fulfillment.

When we lose everything, we are forced to re-evaluate our priorities and values. We are no longer held back by our possessions, relationships, or career goals. We are free to focus on what truly matters - our relationship with God and our service to others. As the Bible says, "all things belong to God, absolutely, to be given as gift, not claim, to be taken back" (1 Corinthians 3:22-23). When we lose everything, we are reminded that everything we have is a gift from God, and that we are called to use it for His glory.

Ultimately, losing everything can be a liberating experience that allows us to find our true selves and our true purpose in life. As Jesus says, "what good is it for you to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit your very self?" (Luke 9:23-25). When we lose everything, we are forced to confront our own mortality and the impermanence of all things. But in doing so, we are given the opportunity to discover a new sense of purpose and meaning that is not based on our possessions or circumstances, but on our relationship with God. As the Bible says, "they will perish, but you remain; they will all grow old like a garment... they will be changed. But you are the same, and your years will never end" (Hebrews 1:10-12).
