The Problem of Disrupted Plans

We often find ourselves facing disruptions to our plans, whether it's a sudden change in circumstances, a surprise opportunity, or a seemingly inexplicable setback. However, as Christians, we are called to trust in God's sovereignty, even when our plans are constantly being disrupted.

Trust in God's Sovereignty

To trust in God's sovereignty, we must be willing to allow ourselves to be interrupted by Him. This requires humility and dependence on God's control over the events of our lives. We must acknowledge that God is working everything out according to His plan, even when we can't see the big picture. This trust is rooted in the understanding that God is not just a distant Creator, but a personal, loving Father who is actively involved in our lives. We can trust in His goodness, wisdom, and power to guide us, even when our plans are disrupted.

The Call to Trust

So, how can we trust in God's sovereignty when our plans are constantly being disrupted? We can start by recognizing that our plans are not the ultimate authority, but rather a means to an end. We must entrust those plans to God, knowing that He will direct us where He wills. This requires a deep trust in God's character and a willingness to surrender our own desires and expectations. As the Bible says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6). By trusting in God's sovereignty, we can live with a far more comprehensive trust in God in all circumstances and a far greater freedom from worry about the future.
