What do we reap when we sow kindness?

The Bible teaches us that kindness is a vital part of living a life that reflects Christian values and teachings. When we sow kindness, we reap many benefits. One of the main benefits is that kindness has a transformative power that can change lives. When we choose to be kind, we put our strength, abilities, and resources on behalf of others, which can lead to a deeper connection with them and a more positive impact on their lives. As Jesus taught, "Love is kind" (1 Corinthians 13:4). This means that kindness is not just a feeling, but a decision to act in a way that benefits others.

The Bible also teaches us that kindness is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). When we walk in the Spirit, we are more likely to exhibit kindness and other virtues such as patience, gentleness, and self-control. In fact, kindness is often seen as a way of showing God's love and care for others. When we are kind, we are reflecting God's character and demonstrating His love and kindness towards us. As the Psalmist writes, "He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?" (Micah 6:8).

When we sow kindness, we also reap a deeper relationship with God. The Bible teaches us that kindness is a way of showing gratitude and praise to God. When we are thankful for God's gifts and blessings, we are more likely to be kind to others. As the Psalmist writes, "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" (1 Thessalonians 5:18). When we choose to be kind, we are demonstrating our trust in God's goodness and sovereignty, and we are more likely to experience His presence and guidance in our lives. Ultimately, when we sow kindness, we reap a harvest of love, joy, and peace that comes from knowing and experiencing God's kindness and love.
