Can we trust in God's sovereignty when chaos reigns?

The answer to this question is a resounding yes. While chaos and evil may seem to be beyond God's control, the Bible teaches us that God's sovereignty includes chaos, and that chaos is always bounded by God's goodness. God has no obligation to explain the chaotic energy to mere mortals, but rather, we are called to trust in His goodness and sovereignty.

The Bible provides many examples of how God's sovereignty is expressed in the midst of chaos. In Psalm 89, the psalmist describes God as the one who rules over heaven and earth, and who controls and defeats the forces of chaos. The psalmist also describes God as a rock on which we can stand secure, a sanctuary from the overwhelming water of chaos. Similarly, in Psalm 18, the psalmist describes God as the one who swoops down from heaven to rescue him from the depths of chaos.

Ultimately, our trust in God's sovereignty is not based on our understanding of the world, but rather on our trust in God's goodness and sovereignty. As the Bible teaches us, God is the only one in whom we should place our trust. When we turn to God, we find shelter from the storm of calamity, and we discover that our sense of security is not based on our changeable and wavering natures, but rather on God's unchanging and sovereign nature.
