The Deception of Shame

Shame is a destructive force that can hold us back from experiencing the freedom and joy that God has for us. It causes us to feel marred and damaged beyond repair, leading us to hide from God and others. Shame is not just a feeling, but a way of thinking that defines us by our sin and shortcomings. Third, we need to look to the Lord and see that we are radiant and our faces shine like the sun. This is not just a feeling, but a reality that we can experience when we look to the Lord. As the Bible says, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11).
