Your Question:
Can I still have a life when my body is broken?
Answer:
As I reflect on this question, I'm reminded of my own struggles and the struggles of those I've counseled as a pastor. When our bodies are broken, it can be tempting to feel like our lives are over. But I believe that even in the midst of physical pain and weakness, there is still a life worth living. The Bible teaches us that our lives are not just physical, but also spiritual. As a Christian, I believe that the Christ-life within me is what gives me strength and hope, even when my body is weak. As a pastor, I've seen people who have faced incredible physical challenges, yet they still found joy and purpose in their lives. They were able to repair and heal, not just physically, but also emotionally and spiritually. The Bible says that a live body is not one that never gets hurt, but one that can to some extent repair itself. I believe that this is true not just physically, but also spiritually. When we are broken, we can still be healed and restored, not just in this life, but also in the life to come. The Bible also teaches us that our lives are not just about our physical bodies, but about our relationship with God. When we are broken, we can still choose to serve and love others, just as Paul did when he said, "I am a debtor to everyone on the face of the earth because of the gospel of Jesus; I am free only that I may be an absolute bondservant of His." This is the true meaning of being broken, not just as a physical limitation, but as a spiritual opportunity to serve and love others.
