Your Question:

Is God really silent?

Answer:

As a pastor, I've often been asked about God's silence. Many people wonder if God is truly silent when we don't hear from Him. But I believe that God's silence is not a lack of response, but rather a trust in us to withstand an even bigger revelation. When God gives us silence, it's not a silence of despair, but one of pleasure, because He sees that we can handle an even greater understanding of Himself.

In fact, I believe that God's silences are actually His answers. They may not be the answers we expect or want, but they are still answers nonetheless. Think of the days of absolute silence in the home at Bethany - those were times of great spiritual growth and understanding for Jesus and His disciples. Similarly, when we experience silence from God, it's an opportunity for us to deepen our relationship with Him and to trust in His sovereignty.

As I reflect on my own life and ministry, I've come to realize that God's silence is often a sign that He's bringing me into an even more wonderful understanding of Himself. It's a reminder that time is nothing to God, and that He's not limited by our human understanding of time. When we're tempted to ask God for a visible answer, we need to remember that His silence is not a lack of response, but rather a trust in us to trust in His goodness and sovereignty.
