Your Question:
Can I still have a sense of purpose when I'm no longer able to work?
Answer:
My friend, I'd like to share with you something that's been on my mind lately. As a pastor and a Christian, I believe that our purpose in life is not just about our work or career, but about serving and glorifying God. When we focus on our relationship with Him, we begin to understand what He has called us to do and who He has called us to be. When we're no longer able to work, it's easy to feel a sense of purposelessness. But I want to encourage you to look beyond your job or career and focus on your relationship with God. He has a purpose for you, and it's not just about what you do, but about who you are in Him. As the apostle Paul said, "You are of Christ, and Christ is of God" (1 Cor. 3:23). We are ambassadors of Christ, called to serve and represent Him in all that we do. So, even when we're no longer able to work, we can still have a sense of purpose. We can focus on serving others, volunteering, or simply being a blessing to those around us. Our purpose is not just about what we do, but about who we are in Christ. And as we focus on Him, we'll begin to understand what He has called us to do and who He has called us to be. As the hymn writer said, "We plow the fields, and scatter the good seed on the land, but it is fed and watered by God's almighty hand."
