Your Question:
Does God even care about my pain?
Answer:
As a pastor and a follower of God, I've come to understand that pain can be a wake-up call, reminding us of our human brokenness and alienation from God. It's a reminder that we need God's assistance and intervention in our lives. The Bible teaches that sin can lead to affliction, and pain can cause us to flee from God. However, as seen in the psalmist's example, we can choose to turn to God in repentance and faith instead of fleeing from Him. In my own life, I've experienced pain and suffering, but I've learned to see it as an opportunity for growth and sanctification. As the Bible says, "God uses the experience of death to complete our sanctification" (Rom. 8:1). Pain and suffering can be a result of living in a sinful, fallen world, but God can use it for our good. He can make it count and use it to complete our sanctification, making us into the sinless children of God that we were intended to be. I believe that God cares about our pain, not because He causes it, but because He is gracious and loving enough to make it count. He can use our suffering for our good, and that's what I've experienced in my own life. When I've gone through pain and suffering, I've seen God's truth revealed to me, and I've been reminded of His love and care for me. As the psalmist says, "Put your hope in God" (Psalm 42:11). I've learned to put my hope in God, even in the midst of pain and suffering.
