God's sovereignty and human free will are two essential concepts that help us understand why God allows difficult situations to unfold, including family members betraying each other. God is all-powerful and all-knowing, yet He chooses to give humans the freedom to make choices. This means that God can see the future and knows the choices people will make, but He does not dictate those choices.

In the case of Judas Iscariot, Jesus knew that he would betray Him, yet He still chose to allow it to happen. This was not because God was powerless to stop it, but because it was part of God's plan to fulfill Scripture. Jesus' death and resurrection were crucial for our salvation, and God's sovereignty was at work in this situation. However, this does not mean that Judas' actions were justified or that God was pleased with his betrayal. Rather, God was using Judas' actions for a greater good.

In our own lives, we may struggle to understand why God allows family members to betray us. We may feel like God is not intervening or that He is not caring for us. However, we must remember that God's ways are not our ways, and His sovereignty is not limited by human free will. God is still in control, even when we experience difficult situations. We can trust in His goodness and sovereignty, even when we don't understand what's happening. As the Bible says, "The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin" (1 John 1:7). This means that no matter what we've done, God will forgive us because of Jesus' sacrifice. We can have confidence in God's forgiveness and love, even in the midst of difficult circumstances.
