What happens when I'm no longer able to take care of myself?

When you're no longer able to take care of yourself, you may face significant challenges. Debilitation can be a difficult and painful process, both physically and emotionally. It's common for people to feel a loss of control, identity, and purpose when they can no longer care for themselves. This can lead to feelings of frustration, anger, and despair. In some cases, people may even consider taking their own lives or seek assistance from others to end their suffering.

However, as a Christian, you can find hope and comfort in the midst of these challenges. Jesus promises to never leave you or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). He is the one who can give you strength and change you in the midst of your struggles. When you look to Jesus, you can expect to say, "This is exactly what I needed." He can help you learn and grow through your experiences, even in the midst of depression or suffering. As Revelation 2:7 promises, "To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life." This means that even in the midst of challenges, you can have a deeper relationship with God and experience spiritual nourishment.

It's also essential to remember that God's plan for your life is not just about your individual well-being but also about using your experiences to bless others. When you give of yourself, even in your weakness, God can use you to make a difference in the lives of others. As the Bible says, "God will never allow you to keep a spiritual blessing completely for yourself. It must be given back to Him so that He can make it a blessing to others" (see Exodus 16:20). By trusting in God's sovereignty and goodness, you can find peace and purpose even when you're no longer able to take care of yourself. This is not to diminish the difficulties you may face but to remind you that God is always working for your good, even in the midst of suffering. (Deuteronomy 31:8)
