Your Question:

Why can't I find peace?

Answer:

My friend, I can sense the weight of your heart as you seek peace. It's a journey many of us embark on, but often find elusive. As a pastor, I've seen many people struggle with finding inner peace, and I've come to realize that it's not something we can manufacture on our own. True inner peace is impossible unless it's received from Jesus. When our Lord speaks peace, He creates peace, because His words are spirit and life.

As I reflect on my own life, I've come to understand that peace with God is the foundation of true inner peace. It's the state of affairs in which God is for us, not against us. When we're right with God, we're free to turn our minds to Him, and that's when we experience His peace. But, my friend, if you're struggling to find peace, it may be because you're not right with God. Have you left no stone of your faith unturned? Have you sought to align your schedule with your values, as Stephen Covey suggests? If not, I encourage you to take a step back and examine your relationship with God.

As I pray for my own family, I pray for peace to be a part of their lives. My son Joshua and daughter Rebecca need to know the peace that comes from living in obedience to God's commands. And, as a husband, I pray for peace in my marriage with Susan. But, I also know that peace is not just about our relationships; it's about our relationship with God. So, I encourage you to look beyond the roadblocks in your life and seek God. He's seeking you more than you're seeking Him, and when you look to Him, you'll find the peace that only He can give.
