A New Perspective on Purpose

When faced with a life that has been turned upside down, it can be challenging to find a sense of purpose. The reality is that our lives are not left up to chance, and we have the power to determine how things turn out for us. As the Bible teaches, "We make our own purpose. We make our own joy." (Psalm 118:24) This means that we have the ability to choose how we respond to the circumstances of our lives and to create a positive influence on our circumstances.

In times of uncertainty, it's essential to keep our commitments to God and to focus on our relationship with Him. As the Bible says, "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans." (Proverbs 16:3) Our purpose in life is not just about achieving our goals or fulfilling our desires, but about living a life that is pleasing to God. As we seek to understand our purpose, we must remember that our purpose is not just about us, but about serving God and living for what matters. As the Bible teaches, "We are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10)

When we focus on Jesus and seek to live for what matters, we can find a sense of purpose and direction in our lives. As the Bible says, "Look to Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." (Hebrews 12:2) By keeping our eyes on Jesus and seeking to live for Him, we can find a sense of purpose and meaning in our lives, even in the midst of uncertainty and change. As the Bible teaches, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11)
