Understanding Trust in God

When we experience betrayal or failure, it can be challenging to trust others, including God. We may wonder if we can ever trust our bodies again, or if we can trust in financial security, or if we can trust in a romantic relationship. The Bible teaches us that we can trust God, even when we've been hurt or failed in the past. In Matthew 9:29, Jesus says, "According to your faith let it be to you." This means that our trust in God is not based on our feelings or circumstances, but on our faith in Him.

Overcoming Self-Doubt and Guilt

When we've been hurt or failed, it's natural to feel self-doubt and guilt. We may wonder if we're worthy of trust or if we're good enough. But the Bible teaches us that we are not defined by our past mistakes or failures. We are defined by our relationship with God through Jesus Christ. When we put our trust in Jesus, we can overcome our self-doubt and guilt. We can learn to trust God, even when we don't feel like it. We can learn to forgive ourselves and others, and to move forward in our relationship with God.

Developing Obstacle-Overcoming Faith

To develop obstacle-overcoming faith, we need to be honest with God about our past mistakes and failures. We need to tell Him how we'll react in the future, even when we don't know how to climb over our own mistakes. We need to trust that God will give us the strength and courage to overcome our obstacles, even when we don't feel like it. As the Bible says, "No sea is deeper than the ocean of His love" (1 Cor. 10:13 BECK). We can trust God, even when we've been hurt or failed in the past. We can trust Him to help us overcome our obstacles and to give us the strength and courage we need to move forward in our relationship with Him.
