Your Question:

What happens when I'm gone?

Answer:

My friend, when you're gone, you'll go directly into the presence of God if you're a believer. Death is a temporary cessation of bodily life and a separation of the soul from the body. Your soul will immediately be with God, and you'll be free from the struggles and worries of this world. It's a time of great joy and celebration, as the Bible says, "When the wicked perish there are shouts of gladness."

But for those who are not believers, there is a different fate. They will face a separation from God that is so great, it's a calamity. Their soul will be cut off from God, and they'll feel a wretchedness that's impossible to describe. They'll be without union, communion, and fellowship with God, and they'll be consigned to a state of punishment and suffering.

However, for believers, there is hope of resurrection and a new body. As Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15, "The dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed." When Christ returns, we'll be reunited with our bodies, and we'll be made new and imperishable. It's a promise of a new and glorious existence, and it's something to look forward to with great hope and anticipation.
