Can I still have a relationship with God after what happened?

The Bible indicates that our relationship with God is permanent. If we are children of God, then we are heirs, and we cannot be kicked out of that position (Romans 8:17). This relationship is secured through the resurrection and ascension power of Jesus Christ and through the Holy Spirit He has sent (Romans 8:11). We can pray to God in Jesus' name, and He will hear us (John 14:13-14). Our relationship with God is not dependent on our feelings or actions, but on the work of Christ in communication and love (2 Corinthians 5:18-19). This means that even if we feel abandoned by God or struggle with moral failures, we can still have a relationship with Him.

However, our relationship with God must be genuine and not just a superficial one. We must be willing to go through the process of renunciation or rejection before Him, even if it's difficult and painful (Luke 9:23-24). This means that we must be willing to let go of our old ways and allow God to work in our lives, even if it means going through a period of spiritual struggle. Our relationship with God is not just about knowing what He has done for us, but about realizing Jesus Christ Himself (John 17:3). We must be concerned about realizing Jesus Christ, not just knowing about Him.

Ultimately, our relationship with God is not dependent on us, but on God's sovereignty and love. He is the One Who suffered for us, and He longs for a relationship with us (John 3:16). He is not on a divine ego trip, but He is inviting us to a personal relationship with Him. This relationship is not based on our feelings or actions, but on the work of Christ in communication and love. We can still have a relationship with God after what happened, but it requires us to be willing to go through the process of renunciation or rejection before Him and to realize Jesus Christ Himself.
