The Bible teaches that we should live our lives with contentment and gratitude, rather than being controlled by debt. In Proverbs 30:8-9, it says, "Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, 'Who is the Lord?' or I may become poor and steal, and dishonor the name of my God." This verse highlights the importance of being content with what we have and not letting debt control our lives.

Debt can lead to a sense of shame and guilt, which can damage our relationships and our relationship with God. In 2 Corinthians 5:18-21, it says, "All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God." This verse emphasizes the importance of being reconciled to God and living a life of obedience to Him.

In Matthew 25:14-30, it says, "Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them. He gave to one servant five talents of silver, to another two talents, and to another one talent, each according to his ability. He also gave them some money and told them to put it to work until he returned. His lord then returned, and so far as his servants were faithful in the use of their talents, he gave them more. But as for those servants who were unfaithful, he will punish them severely and assign them a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." This verse highlights the importance of being responsible and faithful with what God has given us, including our finances. When we live our lives with debt, we are not being faithful with what God has given us, and we are not living in obedience to Him. We must seek to live our lives with contentment, gratitude, and responsibility, rather than being controlled by debt.
