Understanding God's Timing

When we cry out to God for help, it's natural to wonder why He doesn't respond immediately. We might feel like He's not paying attention to our needs or that He's not interested in our problems. However, the Bible teaches us that God's timing is not always our timing. He may not answer our prayers right away because the timing isn't right, or He may say no because what we're asking for isn't in our best interests (Psalm 22:1-2). This doesn't mean that God is slow or unresponsive; rather, He is patient and long-suffering, desiring to give us an opportunity to take advantage of the grace given in Christ (Romans 2:4).

So, what can we do when we're waiting for God to respond? We can pray and wait, but we shouldn't just twiddle our thumbs. Why are you so far from helping me, from the words of my groaning?" (Psalm 22:1). We can respond to this question by saying, "I trust you, God, even when I don't understand." This trust is the key to experiencing the peace and joy that comes from knowing God.
