The Paradox of Trusting God

Trusting God is a paradox, as it involves saying that we need Jesus, acknowledging that our search for self-satisfaction has been a failure, and turning to Him as our true destination. When we trust God, we are saying that we cannot trust our own thinking, our own strength, or our own abilities. We are placing our trust in God's goodness, His love, and His promises. This trust is not based on our understanding or our ability to control situations, but on God's sovereignty and His desire to bless us.

The Problem of Not Understanding

There will be times when we do not understand why God allowed something to happen. In those moments, we must simply trust Him and continue to obey His Word. We must learn to go beyond our confidence in ourselves and others, and to place our trust in God alone. This trust is not a feeling or an emotional response, but a deliberate choice to rely on God's goodness and wisdom, even when we do not understand. As the Bible says, "We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28).

The Promise of Trust

When we trust God, we can be confident that He will not let us be tested more than we can stand. He will make a way out so that we can bear the test. This trust is not a guarantee of ease or comfort, but a promise of God's presence and provision in the midst of difficulty. As the Bible says, "I will never leave you nor forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5). When we trust God, we are not putting our faith in a distant or uncaring God, but in a loving and sovereign God who desires to bless us and guide us through every situation. I can trust God because He is good, and His promises are true. I can trust Him even when I do not understand, because He is sovereign and wise. I can trust Him because He has promised to be with me and to guide me through every trial. I can trust Him because He is my loving Father, and He desires to bless me and guide me in all things.
