Is God even good when He allows suffering to happen?

Understanding the Problem of Suffering

The problem of suffering is a profound question that has puzzled many. It appears that God, being all-powerful and good, should not permit suffering. However, the Bible presents a different perspective. It suggests that God may have reasons for allowing suffering that are beyond our understanding. For instance, suffering can be a means of bringing about a greater good, such as deeper knowledge of God, dependency, and trust in Him.

God's Sovereignty and Goodness

The concept of God's sovereignty and goodness is crucial in understanding why He allows suffering. If God is perfectly loving, He could permit someone to suffer for the good of someone else, as seen in Christ's voluntary suffering. Ultimately, our understanding of God's goodness and sovereignty is not diminished by His allowance of suffering, but rather, it is deepened.
