Your Question:

Why does God feel so distant when I need Him most?

Answer:

I recall the struggles I had as a young boy, trying to connect with God through prayer. It seemed like He was so far away, and I couldn't understand why. I couldn't get near Him, no matter how hard I tried. But as I grew older and studied the Bible, I came to realize the reason for this distance. It's not that God is far away or distant; rather, it's the sin that separates us from Him. Isaiah confirms this in chapter 59, verses 1 and 2, where he says that sin has created a moral distance between us and God.

The good news is that this distance can be bridged through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. By faith in His blood, we can be brought near to God. In fact, we can be as close to Him as we can possibly be, through the Person of His Son. Reconciliation with God is provided, and it's through faith in Jesus that we can experience this closeness. The Bible reminds us that we were far from God, but now we can be brought near to Him through Jesus.

I've come to understand that the distance between us and God is not due to His lack of interest or concern for us. Rather, it's our own sin and rebellion that creates this distance. When we put our sympathy and concern for others above our relationship with God, we can lose that vital connection with Him. But when we identify with God and trust in His love and goodness, we can experience a deeper sense of His presence and guidance in our lives.
