The Question of Suffering

The question of why God allows suffering is a complex and deeply personal one. Many people struggle to understand why a loving God would permit evil and suffering in the world. Suffering can refine us, making us more like Christ, and it can bring us closer to God. As Jesus said, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" (Matthew 27:46). This cry from the cross reminds us that even in the midst of suffering, God is working to bring about our salvation and our good.
