The Guilt of Not Being Able to Provide

The feeling of guilt for not being able to provide for one's family is a common experience for many. The Bible teaches that providing for one's family is a responsibility, but it also acknowledges that it is not always possible to do so. In Proverbs 22:6, it is written, "Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it." In fact, the Bible teaches that children are also responsible for caring for their elderly parents (Exodus 20:12, Ephesians 6:2-3).
