Can a person still be a good Christian if they struggle with fear?

Yes, a person can still be a good Christian if they struggle with fear. In fact, the Bible teaches that fear can be a necessary ingredient in right living (Ps. 57:4-5). The fear of God is not about being afraid of Him, but about having a deep respect and awe for His greatness and righteousness. When we fear God, we recognize our place in relation to Him and live in a way that honors Him.

Dealing with fears involves two basic steps: confessing them as unbelief and training our minds and bodies to trust in God. Much of our fear is rooted in unbelief, and by confessing our fears, we acknowledge that we are not trusting in God's goodness and power. By trusting in God and His promises, we can overcome fear and live with confidence. This is not to say that fear is never present, but rather that it should not control our lives. As Christians, we have been given what we need to live in faith and trust in God, and we should not let fear hold us back from living in light of God's goodness.

The Bible teaches that our victory is secure in the death and resurrection of Jesus, and we are co-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17; 1 Corinthians 6:3). This means that we should not fear anything, including death or the unknown. Our fear should be replaced with faith and trust in God's goodness and power.
