Can I lose God's forgiveness?

The Bible is clear that God's forgiveness is available to all who come to Him in faith. However, it is possible to resist or reject God's forgiveness, which can lead to a lack of forgiveness in our lives. This can happen if we use our forgiveness as an excuse to avoid the pain and embarrassment of reconciling with others. When we do this, we can become stuck in a cycle of resentment and bitterness, which can be damaging to our relationships and our own well-being.

God's forgiveness is not automatic, and it requires us to confess our sins and repent of our wrongdoing. If we fail to do this, we can become trapped in a cycle of guilt and shame, which can make it difficult to move forward in life. As the Bible says, "The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin" (1 John 1:7). However, this cleansing is not a one-time event, but rather a process that requires us to continually confess and repent of our sins.

Ultimately, God's forgiveness is not just about feeling forgiven, but about experiencing freedom from the guilt and shame of our past. When we choose to forgive others and ourselves, we can break free from the cycle of resentment and bitterness and experience the healing and restoration that God desires for us. As the Bible says, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). By choosing to forgive and seek God's forgiveness, we can experience the freedom and joy that comes from a restored relationship with God.
