The Uncertainty of Parenting

When your children grow up and you're not there to see it, you may feel a sense of uncertainty and worry. You may wonder if you've done enough to prepare them for life, if you've taught them the values and principles they need to succeed. The Bible reminds us that our children's lives are not our own, but God's (Psalm 127:3-5). We are stewards of their lives, entrusted with the responsibility of raising them to know and love God.

Praying for Your Children's Future

As a parent, it's natural to want the best for your children, to want them to grow up and make a positive impact in the world. But instead of worrying about their future, we should be praying for it. We should pray that our children will come to know Jesus and follow Him faithfully throughout their lives (John 3:16). We should pray that they will be used by God to bring glory to Himself and to make a difference in the world. As the Bible says, "Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before unknown people" (Proverbs 22:29). We should pray that our children will excel in their work and be used by God to make a positive impact in the world.

Trust in God's Sovereignty

As a parent, it's easy to get caught up in worrying about our children's future and trying to control the outcome. But the Bible reminds us that God is sovereign over all creation, including our children's lives (Psalm 115:3). We can trust that God has a plan for their lives and that He will work all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). Instead of trying to control the outcome, we should trust in God's sovereignty and pray for our children's future, knowing that He is in control. As the Bible says, "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11). We can trust in God's plans for our children's lives and pray for their future with confidence.
