The Value of Humility in the Face of Victory

In the face of victory, humility is a vital virtue that we often overlook. As Andrew Murray points out, human humility is grounded in our very existence as creatures, and we are beholden to our Creator for every aspect of our lives. Humility reflects a commitment to embracing truth wherever it leads, including adjusting our theological understanding or refining our moral judgments. This dedication to truth is essential in the face of victory, as it helps us to remain grounded and not let pride or arrogance take over.

Humility also reflects a Christlike attitude towards oneself, supremely exemplified in Jesus' readiness to forgo his own rights, which led him to the incarnation and cross (Phil. 2:5-11).
