Biblical Answer

The darkness that we face in life is a real and present reality. The Bible tells us that the forces of darkness will break loose upon the earth (1 John 3:12). However, in the midst of this darkness, we must remember that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all (1 John 1:5). This means that we have a source of hope and comfort that is greater than the darkness that surrounds us. As Psalm 139:7-12 says, "Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.... If I say, Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me, even the darkness will not be dark to you; you are altogether mysterious and beyond understanding." This passage reminds us that God is always present and that no matter how dark things may seem, He is still with us.

But how can we escape the darkness? The Bible tells us that we must walk in the light, as He is in the light (1 John 1:7). This means that we must seek to know God and His ways, and to live our lives in obedience to Him. As Psalm 119:105 says, "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path." When we follow God's word, we have the light of His presence guiding us through the darkness. We also have the promise that the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:7). This means that even when we stumble and fall, we can always come back to God and find forgiveness and restoration. We must also remember that we are not alone in this journey. We have fellowship with one another, and together we can support and encourage each other to walk in the light.

In conclusion, the darkness that we face in life is a real and present reality, but we must not be afraid. We have a source of hope and comfort that is greater than the darkness, and that is God Himself. We must seek to know Him and His ways, and to live our lives in obedience to Him. As we walk in the light, we will have the guidance and support we need to navigate even the darkest of times. And when we stumble and fall, we can always come back to God and find forgiveness and restoration. Let us hold fast to the promise that God is always with us, and that He will guide us through the darkness into the light. As Psalm 27:1 says, "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?" We have no reason to fear the darkness, for we have God, and He is our light.
