The Illusion of Hopelessness

Hopelessness can be a lethal force in our lives. It can cause us to feel like we have no purpose, no direction, and no reason to keep going. However, the Bible tells us that hopelessness is not the end. In fact, it's an opportunity for us to look to God and build our hope on Him. As the Psalmist writes, "Look to Me, and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other" (Isaiah 45:22). When we feel hopeless, we need to wake ourselves up and look to God. He is our rock, our salvation, and our hope.

The Power of Hope

Hope is a skill that develops over time, and it's a corporate venture that needs the reminders of the body of Christ. When we commit ourselves to a church where the story of God is told, and seek opportunities for daily reminders, we can cultivate hope in our lives. Hope is not just a feeling, but a choice. We can choose to hope in God, even when everything around us seems to be falling apart. As the Bible says, "And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28). This means that even in the midst of suffering, God is working everything out for our good.

Finding Hope in God

So, how can we still have hope when everything feels hopeless? The answer is simple: look to God. Build your hope on Him, and trust in His goodness and sovereignty. Remember that hope is not just a feeling, but a choice. We can choose to hope in God, even when everything around us seems to be falling apart. As the Psalmist writes, "I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living" (Psalm 27:13). When we look to God, we can find hope, even in the midst of darkness and despair. So, let us choose to hope in God, and trust in His goodness and sovereignty. Let us build our hope on Him, and not on our circumstances. For in Him, we have a hope that will never fail.
