How do I even start to heal?
Healing is a complex and multifaceted process that cannot be rushed or forced. The Bible teaches that healing is a sovereign act of God, and that He chooses when and how to heal (J. H. McConkey, Prayer, pp. 115-16). This means that we must trust in God's timing and not try to control the healing process. Instead, we should focus on cultivating a deeper relationship with Jesus and seeking His guidance and wisdom in our lives.
One of the most important steps in the healing process is forgiveness. Forgiveness is not just about letting go of past hurts, but also about receiving forgiveness from God and others. When we forgive, we open ourselves up to the possibility of healing and restoration. As the Bible says, "Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 5:10). We must also be willing to seek healing from others, including medical professionals, and trust in God's provision and guidance.
In seeking healing, we must also be mindful of our own limitations and the limitations of others. We cannot heal ourselves or others through our own strength or power. Instead, we must rely on God's power and presence in our lives. As the Bible says, "My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever" (Psalm 73:26). We must trust in God's sovereignty and goodness, even in the midst of suffering and pain. By doing so, we can experience true healing and restoration, not just physically, but also spiritually and emotionally.
