Can we find common ground in a divided community?

The Importance of Community and Unity

As Christians, we believe that unity is essential for the advancement of God's kingdom. Jesus taught that a house divided against itself will not stand (Matthew 12:25). This means that when we are divided, we become weak and ineffective in our witness. However, this does not mean that we should abandon our distinctives and compromise on our values. Rather, we should strive to find common ground with those who may disagree with us, while remaining faithful to the gospel.

The Nature of Community and Common Ground

In a divided community, finding common ground requires a willingness to listen, to learn, and to engage in respectful dialogue.
