The Purpose of Work Biblically

The Bible provides a rich and multifaceted understanding of the purpose of work. On one hand, work can be seen as a calling, a way to serve others and contribute to the well-being of society. This is reflected in the idea that Christians should put their hearts into their work, seeing themselves as working for the Lord, not any human master (Col. 3:23-24). This view of work ties into a larger purpose, and gain satisfaction. Christians are called to see work as part of their service to God and to others, rather than just a means to earn a living.
