Your Question:
Why did this have to happen to me and not someone else?
Answer:
As I reflect on the struggles I've faced, I realize that I often ask myself, "Why did this have to happen to me and not someone else?" But the truth is, I've come to understand that these trials and struggles are not necessarily about me being a failure or making mistakes, but rather about God's restoring grace working in my life. As a pastor, I've seen many people struggle with feelings of isolation and independence, and I've come to realize that these feelings are often rooted in a sense of judgment or shame. But God's love and grace are not about judging us, but about loving us and redeeming us from our sins. He uses people who care for us to speak hard truths to us, and He uses these experiences to help us grow and become more like Him. In my own life, I've come to see that my struggles are not about me being flawed or unworthy, but about God's desire to work in me and through me to make me more like Himself. My wife Susan, my children Joshua and Rebecca, and my community at church have all been a source of love and support for me, and I'm grateful for the ways in which they've helped me to see God's love and grace at work in my life.
