How do I trust God when everything feels like it's falling apart?
Understanding God's Sovereignty
When everything feels like it's falling apart, it can be challenging to trust God. However, the Bible reminds us that God is holy love, and He is working everything out for our good (Romans 8:28). To trust God, we must understand His sovereignty over all creation. He is the one who created the universe and sustains it (Genesis 1:1). His way is right, even when everything seems to be going wrong. We must come to the realization that God's way is not always easy to understand, but it is always right.
Developing Faith
Faith is the supreme effort of our lives, throwing ourselves on the eternal truth that God is holy love (Job 13:15). To develop faith, we need to establish a daily personal time with God, where we talk to Him and He talks to us (Psalm 119:105). This is when we learn to trust God in the darkness, even when we can't see Him working. We must also learn to trust God in the midst of smaller losses, such as business failures or friendship losses. When God is trying to get through to us, we must respond by trusting Him, even when we don't understand what He is doing.
Overcoming Obstacles to Trust
There are many obstacles that can prevent us from trusting God, such as feelings of depression, anxiety, and fear. However, the Bible reminds us that God is always with us, even when we can't feel Him (Isaiah 50:10-11). We must learn to trust God, not just in our feelings, but in His Word. We must believe steadfastly on Him, even when everything seems to be going wrong (Hebrews 3:14). Trusting God is not just about feeling a certain way, but about choosing to believe in His goodness and sovereignty, even when we don't understand what He is doing. By choosing to trust God, we can overcome obstacles to faith and develop a deeper relationship with Him.
