The Consequences of Unbelief

If one does not believe in Jesus, the consequences are severe and far-reaching. The Bible teaches that those who do not believe in Jesus will not see him again in this life (John 14:19). In fact, Jesus says that the world will not see him anymore after he has been resurrected (John 14:19). This implies that those who do not believe in Jesus will be separated from him, and will not experience the joy and peace that comes from knowing him.

The Sin of Unbelief

The Bible also teaches that unbelief is a sin. Jesus says that those who do not believe in him will die in their sins (John 8:24). This is because unbelief is a refusal to accept Jesus as the Messiah and the Savior of the world. It is a rejection of God's offer of salvation and forgiveness through faith in Jesus. The Bible also teaches that the sin of unbelief is a serious offense against God, and that it will be punished on the day of judgment (John 16:8-11).

The Eternal Consequences

The consequences of unbelief do not stop in this life. The Bible teaches that those who do not believe in Jesus will suffer eternal separation from God in hell (Matthew 25:46). This is because unbelief is a rejection of God's offer of salvation and forgiveness through faith in Jesus. It is a choice to live without God, and to reject the only way of salvation that God has provided. As Jesus says, "Whoever believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die" (John 11:26). In contrast, those who do not believe in Jesus will die, and will suffer eternal separation from God.
