Your Question:

What do I do when my body betrays me?

Answer:

When your body betrays you, it can be a difficult and painful experience. As a pastor, I've seen many people struggle with feelings of guilt and shame when they're unable to control their bodies. It's easy to get caught up in the idea that it's our fault, that we're not good enough or that we're somehow to blame for our physical struggles. But the truth is, our bodies are fragile and prone to illness and injury.

The first step in dealing with these feelings is to recognize that we don't have to carry the weight of our struggles alone. As Christians, we have a Savior who took our guilt and shame upon himself on the cross. This means that we can confess our sins and struggles to each other, and to God, without fear of judgment. By doing so, we can begin to break free from the cycle of guilt and shame and find healing and redemption.

In my own life, I've struggled with feelings of helplessness and hopelessness when my body hasn't been cooperating. But I've learned to take those feelings to God, to confess them to Him and to seek His healing and restoration. And I've seen that same process work in the lives of others. By acknowledging our struggles and seeking help, we can find the strength and courage to overcome even the most difficult challenges.
