Jesus' Teaching on Sharing Our Resources

Jesus taught us that sharing our resources is not only about being good managers of God's resources, but also about being sacrificial givers. Just as Jesus laid down his life for us, we ought to do so for others, particularly in sharing our resources with the needy. In biblical terms, sharing is good when it has to do with impersonal possessions, such as commodities we consume for health or pleasure. This means that we should be willing to share our time, talents, and treasures with others, especially those in need.

Jesus often spoke about money and the danger of wealth. Much of his teaching on the subject is very disturbing, as it sometimes seems as if he was recommending his disciples to give away everything they have. However, Jesus' teaching on sharing is not about playing mind games or hiding the truth from us. Rather, it is about emphasizing the importance of living a life that reflects Christian values and teachings. Jesus wants us to understand that earthly things are temporary and that our true treasure is in heaven. As we struggle through the challenges of life, Jesus' teaching on sharing reminds us that we are not alone, and that we have a God who cares for us and wants to use us to bless others.

Jesus' emphasis on sharing our resources is not just about giving to others, but also about living a life that is characterized by generosity and selflessness. As we reflect on Jesus' teaching on sharing, we are reminded that we are not just stewards of God's resources, but also friends of God. Jesus called his disciples his friends because he treated them as his intimates and revealed to them everything he had learned from the Father.
