Your Question:
What do I do when my medical treatment is expensive?
Answer:
When facing a medical treatment that's expensive, it's essential to keep your focus on what God wants to do through you and those around you. Don't get bogged down in the technical details of the cost. Instead, look back to your life purpose and ask if this new step of faith will help accomplish it. If it does, move ahead and ask where God's plan is in this. As a pastor, I've seen many people struggle with medical crises, and it's not uncommon for them to feel overwhelmed by the costs. But the Bible encourages us to pray first and seek God's guidance. In James 5:14-15, it says, "Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise them up." This doesn't mean we shouldn't seek medical treatment, but rather that we should seek God's healing power first. In our own family, we've experienced medical crises, and we've learned to trust in God's provision. When I was facing a serious medical issue, I chose not to collect insurance compensation, trusting that God would provide for our needs. And He did. The Bible is full of healing promises, and we should trust in those promises when we face medical challenges. As we pray for healing and God heals, we should give Him the glory and not act like it didn't happen.
