How do I live with this new reality?
Living with the new reality involves recognizing that our understanding of the world and our place in it is constantly evolving. We may find ourselves operating within a set of limits and possibilities that shape our fears, expectations, and sense of what might happen in the coming day. This can be both empowering and confining. On one hand, it allows us to navigate the world with a sense of purpose and direction. On the other hand, it can also lead to complacency and a lack of spiritual growth. As Christians, we are called to continually seek a deeper understanding of God's will and to live according to His principles.
To live with this new reality, we must be willing to engage in the struggle of spiritual growth. This involves setting our hearts on what God wants, rather than adopting the thinking of the world. As the Bible says, "Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God" (Hebrews 12:2). This means standing back from our natural tendencies and fears, and coming into the stillness of God's presence. It's a process that takes time and effort, but it's a necessary step in becoming the person God wants us to be.
In living with this new reality, we must also be mindful of the choices we make. As the Bible says, "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will" (Romans 12:2). This involves being intentional about how we spend our time, including our use of social media. By choosing to engage in spiritual practices and seeking to understand God's will, we can live a life that is transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit. This is the key to living with the new reality and becoming the person God wants us to be.
