Your Question:
Can I still be a good Christian
Answer:
As a pastor of a local evangelical church, I've had the privilege of exploring these deep questions with many Christians. The question of whether someone can be good outside of a relationship with Christ is a complex one. According to Jesus, no one is good except God alone. This means that even outwardly good non-Christians are not truly good in the eyes of God, as their goodness is not rooted in a relationship with Him. However, this doesn't mean that people can't exhibit good behavior or have good intentions. But, as the Bible teaches, our actions and intentions are not enough to make us good in God's eyes. It's only when we have a personal relationship with Christ that we can truly be good, as our hearts are transformed by His love and we are empowered to live according to His will. This is a truth that I've seen in my own life, as my relationship with Christ has transformed me from the inside out. As I reflect on this question, I'm reminded that being a good Christian is not just about outward behavior, but about having a deep, personal relationship with Christ. This relationship is what changes us from the inside out, empowering us to live a life of love, kindness, and compassion. It's a relationship that requires effort and dedication, but one that brings joy, peace, and fulfillment beyond measure.
