Your Question:

Why can't I just be healed?

Answer:

I can see why you'd think that God should heal you right away, especially if you've been taught that God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life. It's natural to assume that God wants to heal you, just like you would want to heal your own child if they were suffering. But, as I've learned from my own experiences and from studying Scripture, God's ways are not always our ways. Sometimes, God chooses not to heal us, not because He doesn't love us, but because He has a greater purpose in mind.

It's also important to remember that we can't just focus on getting healed without considering God's glory in the situation. When we pray for healing, we should pray out of compassion for others, just like Jesus did. We should pray that God's will be done, whether that means healing or not. And even if God chooses not to heal us, we can still trust that He is working in our lives, even if we can't see it.

As a pastor, I've seen many people struggle with the idea of God's sovereignty and their own suffering. But the Bible teaches us that God is good and that He works all things for our good (Romans 8:28). Sometimes, healing will be answered in this age, but sometimes it won't. And that's okay. We can still trust in God's goodness and love, even when we don't get the answers we want.
