Biblical Answer

When we put others first when we're feeling stuck, we are taking a significant step towards breaking free from the cycle of selfishness and misery. The Bible teaches us that we were created for a purpose greater than ourselves, and that our hearts are restless until they find their rest in God (Psalm 84:2). When we put others first, we are acknowledging that our own needs and desires are not the only things that matter. We are recognizing that we are part of a larger community, and that our actions have an impact on those around us.

Putting others first is not always easy, especially when we're feeling stuck and struggling with our own pain and hurt. It's natural to want to turn inward and focus on our own needs, rather than reaching out to others. However, as the Bible teaches us, "the truth is that God made us and knows how we work. In the end, selfishness makes us miserable" (Psalm 107:2). When we put others first, we are not only blessing them, but we are also blessing ourselves. We are allowing God to work through us, and to bring about healing and restoration in our lives.

As we put others first, we are also reminded that we are not alone in our struggles. We are part of a community that is called to love and serve one another, just as Jesus loved and served us (John 13:34-35). By putting others first, we are participating in this calling, and we are helping to create a culture of selflessness and service. This is not to say that we will never experience pain or hurt again, but it does mean that we will be able to face those challenges with a sense of hope and resilience, knowing that we are not alone, and that God is working through us to bring about good in our lives and in the lives of those around us. (Galatians 6:2) In essence, putting others first is not a sacrifice, but an opportunity to live out our faith and to experience the joy and fulfillment that comes from serving others.
