The Struggle of Life: A Call to Engage

You may be wondering why you have to struggle so much. Why can't life just be easy and straightforward? Unfortunately, that's not how it works. Struggle is a natural part of life, and it's what makes us stronger. As Gary and Betsy Ricucci say, "Struggle makes us stronger; it builds us up and deepens our faith." However, this result is only achieved when we face the struggle head-on, not when we run from it.

The Purpose of Struggle

So, what's the purpose of struggle? Is it just to make our lives more difficult? No, it's not about that. Struggle is meant to make us better people. As the Bible says, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28). God uses our struggles to make us stronger and more like Him. When we face our struggles with faith and courage, we can trust that God is working in us to make us better.

Engaging with Struggle

So, how do we engage with struggle in a way that's productive and helpful? First, we need to recognize that struggle is a natural part of life.
