If you can't afford food, I think it's a sign that God is saying, 'You're spending too much on things that don't matter.' You know, I've seen it in my own life, in my own family. My wife, Susan, she loves junk food, and she'll bring it into the house, and it's hard to resist. But if we're not careful, we'll be spending all our money on things that don't really satisfy us. As a pastor, I've seen this in the lives of many people. They're struggling to make ends meet, and it's because they're prioritizing the wrong things.
As a Christian, I believe that God wants us to trust in Him for our provision. He's promised to meet our needs, not our wants. So, if you're struggling to afford food, I would say that it's a wake-up call to re-evaluate your priorities. Are you spending too much on things that don't really matter? Are you trusting in your own abilities to provide for yourself, rather than trusting in God? I think it's a sign that you need to make some changes, to prioritize God's kingdom and His will for your life.
I remember a time when our family was going through a tough financial season. My son, Joshua, was young, and my daughter, Rebecca, was even younger. We had to make some tough decisions about how to allocate our resources. But through it all, we learned to trust in God's provision. We learned that He is faithful to meet our needs, even when we can't see how it's possible. So, if you're struggling to afford food, I would say that it's not a sign of God's lack of love or provision, but rather a sign that you need to re-evaluate your priorities and trust in Him. He is our provider, and He will meet our needs if we will trust in Him.
